When it comes to moto-chic, Up and Away Jackets is where it’s at. The Motorcycle jacket for kids is made of heavyweight nylon which moms know, is the dream ingredient for durability and longevity. What?? You can clean it with a single wipe? It’s machine washable? AND it won’t rip after a couple tumbles down the hill? [Side note: I bet if Jack or Jill tumbled down that hill with this bad boy, the only thing skinned would be their knees!].
Aside from it’s practical awesome-ness, it’s also ridiculously cute.
The overall “tude” of this jacket is simply irresistible, with its decorative charm and authenticity. The “Route 66” patch is what caught our attention, which, for the most part, is not something you see in most Motorcycle jackets for our little monkeys (but really should!). The three authentic embroidered moto-theme patches is nothing new for our friends at Up and Away Jackets, as they pride themselves in emulating the finest of details as seen in our past experiences with this collection. We love the flexibility and lightweight feel of this jacket. This will most likely, be a staple in LD‘s closet for another 2 or 3 years as we anticipate the inevitable chills of fall/winter 2013, with its loose fit atop several layers, and yet light enough to be a spring jacket 2 years from now. We love how the zippers on the forearm at the back of the sleeves allow for the option of a looser fit. And while we’re on the topic of zippers, the two front slash zippered pockets is perfect for chilly fingers while the diagonal chest pocket can carry small toys. Brilliant, really.
The only complex situation LD encountered with this jacket, was choosing the perfect character she would portray while donning such moto-tude.
Would she be an officer? With her new motorcycle jacket, she need not tap into her inner CHIPS with the complexities of a motorcycle, she’s just fine in her Little Tikes Patrol Cozy Coupe.
Nah – she’s far too fabulous to be handing out tickets today, says she.
Perhaps, she may add a feminine flair and dress it up with high boots and a mini, which pretty much screams: “don’t mess with this chick”!
However, she chose to walk away from all this pressure. At the end of the day – it’s about the jacket, in all it’s glory – and not necessarily how she decides to wear it. She has the next few years to figure that out!
…So after much thought, she decided to just be herself, stick to simply cool, and called it a day.
