Ever since LD was in utero – I always insisted on filling her wardrobe with gender-less hues. From greens to yellows, to beige to greys – this little one never had preference for pinks over blues.
Then Jessy & Jack came along and gave us a fun challenge – To hang up our pretty pastels, fold up our drab darks, and to bring out the grass in green and the lemon in yellow. We’ve come up with a few styling tips to go with a staple tee.
This was the first time I gave LD first dibs on styling. And this is what she came up with:
SPRINKLE A LITTLE FAIRY DUST:
LD was inspired to break out her Tinker Bell wings and to fluff up her Romantic three quarter length tutu to coordinate famously with her new “Lars & Lucy” (Bird and Monster) Toddler Tee in Grass Green. The Jessy & Jack collection stays true to their mission of breathing new life into children’s wear by designing unique and playful characters, without the division of genders. We love that their neutral styles and colors balance out their “Unlikely Friends” – a pair of animals that both boys and girls can equally enjoy wearing.
They aim at going beyond traditional styles, and consider a big smile from their mini clients a big win!

SASS IT UP:
With the help of her unlikely friends “Emily & Ernie“, the super adorbs dog & moose pair, LD decided to switch gears and keep things sharp, smart, and sassy with her light moto jacket and metallic mini. Topped off with the cheetah infinity scarf, LD means serious business.

KEEP IT COMFY:
We adore this line, not only for how it looks (hello, you got me at yellow), but also for how it feels. All products in the Jessy & Jack line, including this fab pair – the Elephant and the Robot – are made of 100% cotton. With soft, breathable, natural fibers, these sweet tees and onesies provide the comfort that all kids (and their mommies) look for in their must-have basics. The screen printing process involve non-toxic, eco-friendly, soft water based inks. Because of the actual process used for their prints, the actual design areas of the shirt are comfortable, soft, and breathable. It was a nice break from the rough textures that sewed-on tags and plastic designs most shirts in the market seem to have in common.
Little Mama gives this line 2 chubby thumbs up! But she figured she would display her unwavering support by way of the peace sign and a flash of her tiny pearly whites.

CAN YOU DIG IT?:
Accessories? Yes please. You had me at fringe. Nothing brings out a solid tee’s bold statement than a little flair and a lotta accessories. We wanted to feature the orange accents from this adorable duo – “Vinny & Violet” in grass green. And ORANGE ya glad we did? We know that Little Mama has no qualms about mixing up a look here and there, where shabby-chic-meets-mod.
What we love most about this look was our ode to the flower power movement – peace, love and a generous spirit. And in the spirit of generosity, the Jessy & Jack collection is all about empowering families in need. With very screen-printed tee or onesie sold – a donation of a basic tee will be made to a women’s and children’s shelter in their “buy one, give one” program. Whether in support of an organization providing resources, shelter, healing, nourishment, or clothing – Jessy & Jack uses their unique creations and business smarts to contribute to the communities that need their helping hand. It’s a beautiful thing.
This month thru the end of the year – donations from sales will go to Mary’s Place, a non-profit organization serving homeless women, children and families in Seattle.
With all these feel-good tunes running around in our heads, my little boho babe can’t help but break out into a couple fun (and relatively awkward) dance moves. It’s a good thing we ordered shirts that were perfect for her size, giving her the flexibility she needs during her bouts of dance and play. These tees are true to size (ours were 3/4T for our 3.5 year old), however, with the 100% cotton materials, slight shrinkage was to be expected.
Shrinkage!! SAY WHAT?
Yes, little one. 100% cotton = a teeny weeny bit of shrinkage. Don’t worry, you can get back to those crazy dance moves again – all’s well with the world.
And indeed it is.
