Tips for the Travelista – How to Pack for the Business Traveling Mama

Packing for a business/personal trip for 2.5 months was no easy feat. When faced with this explosion of must-brings…

One word, my friends… Compartmentalize.

1. I separate baggies for each group of items (i.e.: eye care, mouth care, skin care, hair care).

2. I tape containers that could potentially flip or pop open with air pressure. Learned the hard way that these tops aren’t the most secure, especially tens of thousands of feet in the air.

3. I separate makeup items (I like to place my brushes in one, eye/cheek/face in another, and keep lip products on its own) and keep them in flexible and light containers with a sturdy shell to prevent makeup from getting crushed or smeared.

4. I scoop cream products into plastic containers with screw top lids. Love the multi-tiered containers.

5. I make use of those adorable little Tiffany pouches (or pouches you can find at the neighborhood Dollar store) for jewelry pieces.

Surprisingly,  all of my “necessities” fit beautifully in this one plastic zip-up bag.

And don’t forget your business cards. Shameless self promotion is an absolute necessity for the traveling business mama, and cannot be replaced by digital exchange. Extra points – if you have them tucked away in a super cute keychain case.

Keep on rollin’. Say bye bye to creases, and hello to more space!

And if you’re going to travel – travel cute. Coordination doesn’t hurt anybody. Bonus if you can spot your caravan of luggage pieces on the baggage carousel simply because you have a set that screams… “you“.

And boy, does this scream me. Much to Big Daddy‘s chagrin.
