On a global scale, the last few weeks has been all about competition, winning, losing, cheering, tearing up, breaking down, and everything in-between that has anything to do with sports. So how does a fashionista fit into this world, you ask?
Well – let’s talk about one of the most integral parts of the entire spectrum of competition. Let me preface this by saying – when it comes to my sport smarts, what immediately comes to mind is Sporty Spice, at best, so don’t take MY word for it… But next to the competitors themselves, would it be fair for me to assess that sports is just as much – all about the FANS?

Fans come in all shapes and sizes. Males, females, heck – I’ve even witnessed a dog going crazy over a rebound. Fans are everywhere! Fans are you. Fans are me. And fans are little itty bitty people that don’t even really know what the word fan means…
At a very young age, these miniature fans don their favorite teams on their sleeve, in support of the country they were raised in, the city that they know and love, and the College that they are hoping to get into in 18 years. Whatever the case – these mini fans are indeed, fans… if not for the sake of their die-hard-fan-parents.
So when we came across Baby Fans, we were as excited as a Canadian witnessing the last three minutes of the women’s olympic hockey gold medal game, against the U.S. From the MLB, to the NFL, to the NBA, to Collegiate sports – this online shop (and showroom) brings team spirit to whole other level.

Success stories of children’s wear brands or shops often begins with inspiration and determination, and this brand is no exception. Two avid sport fans who happened to be proud uncles, were scouring the world wide web looking for sports gear of their favorite teams to influence (whoops!), encourage their darling nieces and nephews to sport the sports. They put their heads together, and did not let distance or life challenges get in the way of making their dreams a reality. And Babyfans.com was born!
Naturally, LD had to get in on the action.
Born and raised in California – it is no surprise that she was all over the Lakers gear. And who wouldn’t be? The possibilities were endless!
After some kicking and screaming from a very resistant Detroit Tigers and Lions fan, otherwise known as her father, we surrendered to our in-house baby fan, and ended up with a beautiful package, wrapped flawlessly in team colored tissue. Now that’s what we call keeping with the team spirit!
And soon, the Mini Fan-unista made her way down the sandy runway of Malibu, as proud as can be:
But even in the warmth of the California sun, there is still a little bit of of the cool ocean breeze that made wearing her Kobe Bryant Romper Jersey just a touch impractical.
So at least until Spring, back to the LA Lakers Kids Sweat Suit, it is!
With these officially licensed pieces, it’s expected that the materials used are top grade in both quality and comfort, especially for the little ones. And indeed, both passed the test as seen on one very satisfied customer in the photos above. Fit appears to be true to size – however, we were able to figuratively stretch out our wear as the romper in size 24 months still fits my 35 month old monkey. This is one fan that won’t budge!
But one thing we took home from the recent run of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics is about sportsmanship and camaraderie. It’s certainly not enough for us to just tell you about our experience with Baby Fans – we want to share it with all of you!
