Our little Rainbow’s first birthday is today, and we cannot believe it’s been over a year since *this happened….
But before that, this happened…
And then THIS happened…
It had just been revealed – we’re having a baby boy!
My Little Mama has been waiting (im)patiently for her tea party partner to come join her at the enchanted forest to enjoy a cup of tea and a tower of macarons.
Cut to one year later.
Our sweet little macaron-loving-macaron-smashing little prince came to join us.
Fina-freakin-lly.
(Sidenote: He’s not quite sure what the big hullabaloo is. He just wants to eat his macaron.)
After 5 long years of waiting, our Little Rainbow is here. And he’s ONE!
I can’t believe it’s already been 365 days since he’s come into this world, and now we’re celebrating our rainbow’s first birthday.
I’m still pinching myself.
Whoops – apparently, he’s not a big fan of the word “pinch”. His cheeks have taken a hit for the last 365 days.
For our little rainbow’s first birthday, a macaron smash made the most sense since Daddy revealed to Little Mama and I that we were having a boy. Meanwhile, we shared with the world on and offline that we were pregnant and that our dear friend and chosen sis, Jenn, helped make this dream a reality.
When we told this guy he had the freedom to do whatever he wanted with his macaron tower – ie: OUR version of a cake smash (but way less messy, and way more fancy), he went to town.
Ish.
This is as smash-y as our little rainbow will get. He’s a very dignified eater.
Ish.
We are so in love with you, my sweet boy. Thank you for bringing so much joy, light, love, and color to our family – just like a rainbow after the storm. We celebrate you today and everyday.
From that day when it was revealed to us that you were gonna be our tie-donning-crown-wearing prince, every time I came across a macaron, I think about that moment in the forest. The very moment I was given the amazing opportunity to call you by your name for the first time, while you were still in my belly.
I cannot wait to see how the rest of your years will unfold.
Oh, our little-rainbow-that-could. Happy Day indeed!
Now gimme some of those macarons please.
