As the youngest Best Actress nominee for her amazing role in Beasts of the Southern Wild, at last night’s Oscars, sweet Quvenzhané Wallis sure made her entrance on the red carpet. Like her star-studded peers (that, in my opinion, paled in comparison – though, I suppose I’m a little biased…), she graced The 2013 Academy Awards in her gorgeous royal blue dress from the Giorgio Armani Junior collection, embellished with sparkly rhinestones and tulle galore, along with rhinestone ballet flats. Sounds to me, her choice of red-carpet-worthy wear, was reflective of what any 9 year old princess would want on one of the most important nights of their… career?

Not surprising, Quvenzhané brought her date in coordinating attire, Sammy (named after her real pup at home), who is among her many signature fluffy friends that has been seen attached to her hip at many-a-Hollywood-event. Needless to say her pooch purse was also notably sporting fancy tulle and a tiara – after all, good ol’ Sammy is a matching sparkly accessory for a sparkly princess.
Speaking of must-have accessories, the oscar-nominated date of the night is from Poochie & Co., among a plethora of adorable mini-me accessory plush purses.
If your own in-home princess is looking to score herself one of these puppies, you can find them readily accessible at your local Claire’s, Dillard’s, and Burlington Coat Factory retailing anywhere from $9.99 – $18.00. You may even spot them at Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx, and Kmart if you put your stylin-sleuth skills on high gear.
We certainly did – and we spotted a leopard print spaniard on Amazon.com. Leopard??? Be still, my beating heart! (or should I say, “sit, Ubu, sit. Good dog”… Whoops, I think I just dated myself…)
I don’t know about you, but an accessory for less than $20 THIS cute… sounds like a winner to me.
