Every year, March hosts a busy itinerary for the babyStylista crew. From the boss turning a year older (how is she already 5?? More on that for a later post), to daylight saving time making a grand (and unwelcomed) entrance, to petitePARADE putting together yet another memorable kids fashion week event that outdoes its last. A platform specific to the children’s market from tots to teens, showcasing the cutest, coolest, most unique brands, the 10th edition petitePARADE held their fabulous shows at Spring Studios in New York City, and what a show it was.
As always, we are excited to share our favorite Fall/Winter 2016 looks as we give you a first-hand glimpse into some pretty amazing collections that made its way down micro runway.
It’s no surprise that we are most attracted to bold statements and looks that quite literally, command a double take. The Flowers by Zoe collection brings new meaning to boho chic with its colourful prints and statement graphic tees. Of course we nearly did backflips when we set our eyes on the feather jacket which beautifully sets the tone for what’s to come.
IMOGA has always been top of our faves list. With their array of colourful prints and unique patterns, there’s no stopping this collection from being noticed as soon as it hit the runway.
Now that Little Mama is quickly approaching her school years (nooooo!), subdued color palettes and simple styles have found their way into her wardrobe. #SEN made its debut on the runway with its vintage charm and classic silhouettes and immediately won its place in Little Mama‘s heart. Timeless styles and comfort is definitely key to a happy preschooler, especially my happy little preschooler.
Baby CZ has always captured the essence of childhood spirit and its FW16 collection is no exception. With every look that made its way down the runway, I wanted to climb into a time machine and slip into one (or all) of these classic pieces. Funny enough, Little Mama was just as compelled to get her little hands on one of these beauties herself. Apparently, this collection’s modern approach to an otherwise timeless brand leaves quite the impression across the generations.
Wondering if these adorable tots sporting this collection had anything to do with it?
Global denim brand, Diesel Kid, has inspired most of our go-to street looks – since the first event we attended at Kids Fashion Week in 2013. Their show, featuring the AW16 collection (sprinkled with looks from SS16) left us almost wanting to skip the summer entirely, and go straight to the fall months. Only 6 months to go, and counting…
My shoe-loving mini was immediately drawn to the SS16 Little Creatures collection of EMU Australia. I mean, who wouldn’t want soft, cute, and cuddly animal friends for their little tootsies? And Oprah-approved, to boot!!
Little Creative Factory did not mess around during their debut appearance at petitePARADE. Living up to their name, their theatrical and sustainable pieces were not only creative in style, but in presentation. This unique collection based out of Barcelona and known for its architectural-inspired silhouettes, kept to their mission of staying clear away from trend and leaving an imprint, that less is indeed, more.
