As many of us know, this past season’s New York Fashion Week has recently come to an end – and what a show it was! Of course, since the opening of Oscar de la Renta’s children’s line – we’ve been at the edge of our front row seats, waiting for the first look at his first-ever runway show. Looks like someone is a natural with the kidlets.
I know you’re just dying to see the pics. Here are some of our faves:
You can never go wrong with a multi-tiered tulle party dress. What a doll!
Who says a boy can’t rock pink? Petal Pink, at that! Notice the length of the poplin trouser immediately transforms this potentially dressy linen suit into a casual look. We love how the belt is used as a key accessory to break the pale hues. We’re slightly obsessed with the little gal’s double breasted dress coat with the traditional puritan collar and matching bonnet.
This little darling is nothing short of stunning in this cluster print party dress. The beautiful array of colors in the pattern just screams “look at me!”. And you know LD is all about it!
On the other side of the color-temp wheel is this adorable single pleated, a-line bow dress. We were in love with the navy and pink seersucker when it first came out, and are now thrilled that it will now be available in Turquoise with the wonderful detail in the trim. Sweet simplicity rocks this look.
This little lad knows all it takes to have fun is a set of wheels, a french blue striped knit cotton polo, and bold citrus lightweight twill shorts with matching bold laces. And a charming smile of course…
There is nothing more solid than a solid romper over a crisp button down short sleeve in matching plaid. L’il guy looks so proud walking down the runway in his visible stitch loafers.
Polka dots should never be limited to New Years eve. This sweet linen wrap dress in lime gives polka dots a good rep. Kudos to the awesome stylist who chose these fab bold flats!
We were a little taken aback by the awesomeness that is this hand-crocheted jacket. A little tribute to Jackie O doesn’t hurt anybody. Love the lime, the scoop neck, and the trim detail. And let’s take a moment to enjoy the subtleties in the slightly flared cuffs. Just gorgeous.
Even a similar jacket with slight variations can transform the look from sassy to classy. We love how the jewel neckline of the jacket over a white button down gives a new dimension to the look. Loving the scallop shorts. And let’s not forget those royal blue ballerina flats!
Over-the-knee navy plaid long shorts?? Are you kidding me!? Apparently not! Secured by a circular buckle leather belt. This is where cute and practical go hand in hand. We just adored how this little sweetheart accessorized with headphones to add a little flavor to this classic getup. Either way, this is going to be a fave – I can feel it!
Double the trouble? Twice the nice? The wide stripes and the twill bottoms are a fabulous look that is simply perfect for spring – but what was just as fabulous was the Stylist’s creative direction with the matching boards and the swapped-out belt colors. We’re a big fan of coordination, without replication. Definitely a look that will go far on the runway.
This is merely a peek at some of the memorable pieces – but it is even more beautifully captured on video, courtesy of CR Fashion Book.
