One of my most favorite pastimes is to shop for the previous season one or two seasons later. Sound a little cryptic? Well – let me clarify… Is it ever a question that we extend our Thanksgiving and Holiday Season by tacking on another day at the end of all the madness? Whether it’s referred to as Black Friday, Boxing Day, Crazy Sales Day, National Returns Day or 364 days til Christmas – it all means the same thing. It’s passed, it’s long gone – but it’s ON SALE! This is when I’m proud to say “Stock is cheap“… and the Tea® Spring/Summer 2012 collection is no exception!
Since my Spring/Summer 2012 Tea® Collection post for our chic chicks, there has been an overwhelming amount of requests for a post geared towards our little guys. What I love most about my daughter, other than the fact that she is my one and only, irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind LD – is that she is just as thrilled to be wearing a Polo Romper essentially for boys one minute, and pink ruffled bloomers (hot pink only, please) the next. This particular minute, she proudly waddled about wearing the Kendang Polo Romper in Indigo. Named after the 2-headed drum played during the cultural Gamelan dance in Bali – this little number sure gets a lot of well-deserved attention with its multi-colored dots, adorable front and side pockets and cool-enough-not-to-pop collars. We love the overall comfort, convenience of the diaper snaps, and its simple style. The Poleng Long Shorts is one of LD‘s personal faves. The yin-yang b/w pattern is always a winning combo, but most appealing about these shorts is the over-the-knee length. With crawlers like my l’il mama, nothing can be more practical than a little poleng cloth cushioning a pair of dimpled chubby knees. From $39.00, now on sale for $19.50, I’d be down on bended knee myself, snagging a couple pairs of these not-so-bad boys! Perfectly matched with her Born to Love Black Rib Beanie with Pink embroidery, and taking it back old school with a Little Citizen’s Rose Pink Hoodie (limited item also from the Tea® Collection), LD found a way to turn the Poleng Long shorts for boys into tomboy chic for girls. And wouldn’t you know, the Poleng style comes in a Poleng Skirt for our ladies 2 years and up! (Also on sale for $19.50)! LD isn’t too upset about opting for the short versus skirt, as she was all about showcasing her inner B-Boy this time around.
The Roll up Safari Shirt (Sizes 6 months to 12 years) is definitely a must-have for any boy’s closet. Also at a measly $19.50 (regular price, $36.00), this slub jersey button up shirt is not only cool… it’s fresh. As this is definitely something Big Daddy would sport – his mini-me jumped at the chance to follow in his stylin’ footsteps. Matched with the stretchy, lightweight Skinny Stripe Leggings in Indigo for $22 (or if you’re more inclined to the price slash, the Skinny Stripe Capri Leggings now on sale for $16.50 from $25.00, may be more your thing), LD tweaked this look and made it her own.
So like any end-of-season sale, it would make the most sense to jump on the proverbial online bandwagon and start checking off those items on your list, because these little guys are going fast!
