We are heartbroken to hear of yet another disaster that has claimed the lives of over 51 victims, with 20 children among them. Details of the 2-mile wide monster tornado that tore across parts of Oklahoma City and its suburbs, is all over the news and has flooded the feeds on all social media circuits. For this reason, we will not be reiterating the latest updates. We simply cannot catch up. Every minute, there is an increasing number of victims that are reported to have been seriously injured, an increasing amount of them children, as much of the devastation involved two schools directly in the tornado’s path, and surrounding neighborhoods have been completely destroyed. What we are able to do however, is invite you to take a moment and look through all of the information below, highlighting the various ways we can assist the relief organizations (bless them!) in supporting our friends in Oklahoma during this troubling time.

Our continued prayers and support in all ways possible, go out to those affected by this disaster. I know I will be holding my child extra tight tonight and thanking the heavens above, that I have her in my arms – safe and sound. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that these families are experiencing this very moment. If all I am able to do is sacrifice a couple swimming lessons for LD, or opt out of lunch dates with the ladies this week, or delay that handbag purchase that was once an alleged need, just so we can extend that little something to help, than so be it! The goal here is for OK to be OK.
I was deeply moved by the actions of childcare staff at AgapeLand Daycare that, according to the NY Times:
“…hustled some 15 children into two bathrooms, draping them with a protective covering and singing songs with them to keep them calm. As the wind ripped the roof off one of the bathrooms, and debris rained down on the children, they remained calm, singing “You Are My Sunshine,” the assistant director, Cathy Wilson, said. Though the day care center was almost entirely destroyed, the children were unharmed.”
Let us be Oklahoma’s Sunshine, my dear friends, and give them back their beautiful mornin’.
There’s a bright, golden haze on the meadow
There’s a bright, golden haze on the meadow.
The corn is as high as an elephant’s eye
And it looks like it’s climbing clear up to the sky.Oh, what a beautiful Mornin’
Oh, what a beautiful day.
I’ve got a beautiful feelin’
Everything’s goin’ my way.
With love and prayers,
db
