I never fully understood the joy of having a girl, until I actually started to be a girl with my little mama. As a toddler, I am witnessing LD‘s interests unfold before my very eyes – and to my delight (and to Big Daddy’s chagrin), she’s becoming much like me. Especially when it comes to accessories.
It is a common understanding in the world of fashion, that all it takes to spice up even the most plain of ensembles is to accessorize, accessorize, accessorize. Whether it’s a hat, a headband, a scarf, bangles, socks, or shoes – accessorize, and guaranteed, the look will go from plain jane, to OMG how fabulous is she?
So whilst hobnobbing at the New York Kid’s Fashion week, LD received a wonderful package at the front desk of our hotel from HiBaby Designs. Enclosed, was a purse and an infinity scarf for little mama, as well as a sweet surprise for Big Mama. You cold hear our screams of sheer delight 11 floors up.
You see, it wasn’t just any old purse – it was, in fact, the HiBaby Triangle Studded Belt Bag.
We love the gold embellishment with triangle-shaped studs and the convenience of the magnetic snap closure. Can’t beat those major minor details that makes all the difference in toddler accessorizing. To top it off, the adjustable nylon belt goes around baby’s waist allowing little mama to go about her merry way, while the purse is securely fastened.
But what really made us want to scream from the hi-rise rooftops was this:

Did someone say Animal Print??
We SURRRRRE did!
Now that we have disclosed our not-so-secret obsession with animal print, shall we continue with our review?
So we decided to take this fabulousness on our adventures to the big cosmo centers as the mini jetsetter made her way around the fashion circuit during our design tour.

The Cheetah Infinity Scarf (there goes our animal print obsession again!) was the perfect match to an already perfectly accessorized look. Appropriately named “infinity”, as the compliments little Miss Travelista was receiving city after city, were neverending.
But the final test was bringing this look, eastcoast-appropo, to sunny California. LD was pretty confident that she would be one of the few lucky mini-fashionistas rockin’ the studded belt in Los Angeles. Not for long. After she unveiled her most prized possession for all of her playgroup mates to see, most of the mommies were falling over themselves trying to get a closer look at the leopard lining, and the wonderful workmanship that went into this fabulous product.
We were proud to be one of the first among our friends, but we will, most certainly, not be the last. In the meantime, LD will celebrate her awesome trendsetting skills by doing the happy dance.
LD was so influential with her new must-have purse, she even convinced her Unky Brian to join in on the fun as well. Too bad men have such a problem carrying purses, otherwise – we would have cornered him into a matching “man purse”. It worked out in the end, as we settled with coordinating ‘tudes instead.
What made these wonderful items so special to us was the heart behind it. The designer of HiBaby Designs is a single mom of a ridiculously adorable toddler. With her fashion savvy and natural ebullience for style, she would search high and low for the perfect piece to accessorize her little girl’s wardrobe. Like most mothers can attest to, this is no easy feat – so she decided to cut up some of her old favorite scarves. If that isn’t giving a piece of yourself to your baby, I don’t know what is. [Oooh that was a good one!]. In any event, after letting out the big secret of her mini-fashionista’s mini-finds, a friend and her came up with the ever-amazing and always-evolving baby belt bag.
