I’ve always been a shoe kinda gal. Which is ironic because I’m not a big fan of feet. But shoes? Ahh yes… shoes. So naturally, my mini-me has no choice but to surrender to my obsession. In the last few days I’ve noticed however, that her natural inclination towards accesso-feet, even at the ripe age of 15.5 months, has been increasingly sharpened as she spends most of her late mornings fighting naps while trying on all of the household shoes.
She starts off the day perusing my closet and everyday purse collection.
Then, she waddles over to the shoe station for a little tootsie tango with either my summer wedges (helloooo! Baby Proofing situation!!),
or Big Daddy‘s collection of shinies and frivilous kicks that spend more of their time in their boxes (or in LD‘s mouth), than on his feet.
Having said all this – it only makes the most sense to maximize our mommy-daughter moments starting from the tootsies up. Now that LD has actual human feet that’s not overly-sensitive, shriveled little prunes, it’s that much easier to find a good matching pair to MY liking.
My Godson JJ officially converted me into a Wizard of Oz fan. It was for this very reason I had to land myself a pair of Dorothy reds, or as they’re technically referred to as, Vera Wang Lavender Lillian Red Patent Leather Flats. They have a lower center of gravity which means less chance of an embarrassing spill, they’re cute, and they do their job of keeping me comfortable, while sticking out from a crowd oversaturated with black, white, and grey all over.
It’s only fair I afford LD the opportunity to experience the joys of bold red shoes – and that she did, as she landed herself a gorgeous pair of Stride Rite Seraphina Maryjanes in patent Red . Coincidentally, (and you know when it comes to BABYSTYLISTA and snatching a deal, there are no coincidences…) – these babies are on SALE! SCORE!
Cape Clogs is a shoe shop that really grabbed our attention. These Swedish imports are handmade which means that each and every one of these pieces are unique and although you’re guaranteed comfort and natural support, not any one of these pairs are exactly the same. We live by this motto everyday at BABYSTYLISTA. Be different – and own it. And with these beauties – LD is pleased as a princess in leopard to be prancing around in her just-like-mama’s Leopard Print Clogs.
It’s no shock that LD and I went right for the animal prints, but there were a plethora of prints to choose from, like the Whimsy, Kozmic, Brown Nubuck, Pink Metallic (and you know us and our metallics!), and keeping with trend – polka galore! Their collection offers a variety of styles as an extension to their clog casuals – like the Vasa Boot for Mama,
and even an assortment of Diva Slippers meticulously handmade in Germany, for the Deserving Yummy Mummy Divas.
The choices are endless. We were lucky to come out of it in one piece, there were so many goodies to choose from!
After clogging our way through the abundance of comfy clogs, we end the night with a couple pairs of matching animaux furs to keep our oh-so-fragile tootsies nice and warm. Nothing beats a pair matching foot furs to reward a pair of hard-working, deal-hunting, fearless shoe-nistas after a long day of shoe shopping.
Stylishly yours,
