It’s one of those days where the sun is out, but the morning chill still has a little bite to it. So what better way to spend a relaxed mommy-and-me day in a quaint little town than sporting a good dose of herringbone wool a la vintage?
LD prides herself in being one of the few preschoolers in her international circle of friends that can actually keep a hat on for more than 10 seconds. It’s quite impressive, actually.
But this isn’t just any hat. This is an experience.
With the 100% wool tweed, lined with 100% cotton, the snug, deep fit (thanks to the elastic gathering at the back – genius, if you ask me), and the small stiff brim at the front, this Boston based flat cap from Little Lids (known as the Kerryman Scally Cap) often stops traffic among passerbys. Frankly, this vintage-loving-cap-wearing mini trend-setter doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about. Says she, “If the hat fits, wear it. Simple… Right?”
We love the Kerryman Thick Country Tan and black herringbone scally cap, not just because it has the coolest name ever, but because it fits so perfectly on little mama’s not-so-average-sized-head typical of kids her age. We often have to do a special adjustment when it comes to caps as her head is like her father’s more narrow and long. Gone, are the days of the of cleverly hidden clamps – Woohoo! We have found a hat that actually fits!
It is so exciting for a 4 year old to jump and dance in the middle of a quiet and quaint town while maintaining control of all her accessories.
