Meet Jill (aka, LD)…
Jill is the girl who knows that she can solve tough real world problems, who can hang with the boys, who doesn’t necessarily limit herself to fitted girly tees and cap sleeves. She’s on a mission against bullying, completely supports the move towards eliminating harmful gender stereotypes, and celebrates her own unique qualities that make her different, not weak. She is strong. She is awesome. She’s a girl.
And she’s Jill.
Here’s her BFF – Big Daddy… err.. I mean, Jack.
He believes in collaboration, not just competition. He’s inclusive. He’s equal. He wants to inspire Jill and all the other the other Jills and Jacks of the world to think beyond the stereotypes. To be leaders. To not be limited by uniformity and expectation.
He, is Jack.
He also let little mama dress him today. Smart move, Jack. Smart move.
When we were given a wonderful opportunity to dress LD and her favorite playmate, Big Daddy, in coordinating wear, all for a brand that stands for equality, acceptance, and tolerance, while celebrating differences – we were beyond delighted. Introducing, Jill and Jack Kids. They think beyond pink and blue.
Half of the T-rexes were girls? OF COURSE they were!
The fit is unique to Jill and Jack Kids wear, achieving that perfect, long slim fit that is based on the measurement of real kids. Gone are the days of shirts that are far too short or much too wide. We also love how their designs vary in a spectrum of interests specific to kids, not gender; Nature, technology, and science. All the fun stuff we tend to see very little of in children’s wear… but should see much more of.
We are especially thrilled that Jill and Jack Kids apparel are all made in Canada with environmentally-conscious materials through a chemical-free process. All safe. All good.
And wouldn’t you know it – they come in big sizes too! Yay, for us big people.
Big Daddy and his mini-me, spent the day at the market grabbing at samples and getting their hands on local made products and crafts.
They were especially excited to show off their matching tees that weren’t only bold and proud, but relayed a pretty cool message for kids of all ages.
They enjoyed moments of silliness…
People watching… (LD, what did mommy teach you about pointing? Gasp…)
And of course, about a zillion sweet Daddy-and-me moments.
Looks like we did our part to spread the message about breaking down those gender types! And it helps that little mama and Big Daddy both got a good dose of attention while doing so.
Hooray for gender equality. Hooray for clothing options. Hooray for a matching date with Big Daddy. And hooray for Jill!
