Today was a busy day. Even though Spring is officially here, the clouds were still grey, and we were forced to continue with our winter transitional outerwear, at least for the morning.
As cute as Big Daddy and his mini-me were in their matching puffer vests, it quickly became apparent that someone was longing for a little sun.
LD, the ultimate Daddy‘s Girl, was nice and cozy next to her (2nd) most favorite person for a better part of the morning. However, there is no doubt that the layering was to blame for all the cozy that was going on here. From a slouchy, to a puffer vest, to our lovely Star in Grey tights from Funky-Legs, to her fave Tokyo Baby Fur Balloon Shorts, and a pair of mid-calf boots – this little layered lovely, was dressed perfectly for the grey skies.
But somewhere between errand running, and dance class, we made a pit stop at our favorite schoolhouse-turned-bakery for some treats and chalkboard fun for the busy little mama (costume change, inclusive – and the Star Funky-Legs Tights saga continues)…
…and a lovely cup-o-tea for big mama (cuz a girl’s gotta squeeze in her dose of caffeine, amiright?)
We couldn’t have timed our second wind better. Before we knew it, dance class was about to start. Since little mama was already settled in her dance attire, all she needed to change were her dance shoes. Once again, her Star Funky-Legs Tights did not disappoint. She was in such good spirits, she even helped her dance teacher out at the end of class, much to my surprise and elation. This shot was taken as proof to Big Daddy that LD isn’t always just about making a mess. She makes a pretty awesome helper too.
When she wants to be…
As the sun started to peek out, so we figured a nice long walk outside was in order.
She even managed to jump into a few puddles.
I tried not to cringe at the sight of dirty rain water splashing all over her fab star tights. But then I reminded myself not to sweat the small stuff. She is a kid after all. Making a mess and having a blast… well – it’s their job.
And besides, her tights can handle it.
All in all, it was a productive, physical, casual cool kinda day. Even though we’re thousands of miles away from the city we love, we certainly had a great time exploring the city in our own funky way.
Join us tomorrow to see what look we come up with next: built from from LD‘s toes all the way up to her nose!
