Old Hollywood Starlets … FAM-O-WEEN Closet Shopping at its Finest

It’s that time of year again!  Time to take off our “real me” hats, and be someone else for the day.

Why not Old Hollywood starlets?

Meet “Aww”drey Hepburn… our little in-house Hollywood Star.  An ode to one of the most timeless and fashion forward Old Hollywood starlets.

This was a last minute plan. Normally, I’m very meticulous about themes and I’m prepared months in advance as seen in our past Halloween shenanigans. But lately, little Miss Tomboy has inevitably transitioned into the world of all that is princess – so it was a no-brainer decision made… um… LAST NIGHT!  Let’s just say, we were a little off our bed time routine on the eve of All Hallow’s eve…

Unlike the last few years, we were a little behind schedule with our creative planning, and were coerced into a NO-BUDGET budget.  Not the greatest way to go about things, but boy, did the desperate times call for desperate measures. As you can see, dressing up as old Hollywood starlets wasn’t terribly far fetched when it came to our tickle trunk of goodies.

Literally everything you see on little “Aww”drey is from my closet, her closet, Grammy’s jewelry box, and the kitchen drawer.  From old pearls that haven’t been touched for years, to a Target Disney princess tiara on its last stud at bottom of her  dress-up trunk, to mommy’s favorite sunnies (I bargained with her: one piece of chocolate in exchange for special treatment of my shades. Phew!), to chopsticks that just happened to be lying around. At the ripe age of 2 and as long as she is the daughter of her father, the chances of owning a little black dress is pretty much slim to none.  Sooo… mommy’s petticoat it is!

But we could not just leave little Awwbrey on her own, in this big Old Hollywood starlets world. So we decided to join in on the fun.  Forget Breakfast at Tiffany’s – it’s Breakfast at Sass & Smalls…

And yes – I had the wig and doggie sunnies lying around. Suffice it to say, we have a pretty interesting closet.
