Ethicool. Certifiably. This is what New Generals, the force-to-be-reckoned-with Danish children’s clothing brand, aims to be. If you haven’t already caught a glimpse of this fascinating collection, they have certainly exceeded our expectations with their commitment to sustainability, quality, and well… cool. From materials, to production, to sales, this brand is ahead of the fashion curve with their use of 100% organically grown cotton without any use of toxic products, and without any compromise to the environment. Not only do your little ones benefit, so does your lovely planet earth. Thanks, New Generals – for doing your part in keeping our world beautiful for the generations to come.
But aside from their stance on the environment, they are the epitome of fashion forward thinking. With their innovative use of lines and mod shapes in their designs, New Generals sticks out from the crowd. This is especially true in the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. Yes – we have just barely rung in the new year and we’re already talking about the end of it and the beginning of the next – but like New General‘s promise of consistently thinking out of the dress up box – we need to look ahead and get ourselves ready for what is in store for us.
Edgy. Black. Hints of rich plum and deep blue. Shades of gray (get your mind outta the gutter, mamas!). Unexpected use of symmetry, lines, and shapes. Flowing dresses. Sharp jackets. Hidden pockets. Contrasting zippers.
Isoli blazers. Printed jeans. Soft organic jerseys. Cozy cardis. Overall, an abundance of quirky isms in this amazing collection of sharp and smart design.
And… Swallows? Yes – a bird. No, not a mascot – but, rather a sweet celebration of pattern and playfulness.
This is what you can expect from New General‘s Autumn/Winter ’13 line, and if that wasn’t enough to whett your appetite, take a look at some of our fave pieces fresh off the runway at the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair earlier this month:
LD could barely keep herself together when she spotted the braided knitwear and accessories used in conjunction with this ultra cool collection. With the styling genius of adult fashion designer, David Andersen, materials used for this striking showcase was made of recycled designer wear! How’s that, for taking eco-fashion to the next level!?
Knits and knots galore! From head…
to shoulders…
to an insane knitted cape that I could make very good use of, right about now.
to an amazing bolero in braided wool…
With David Andersen‘s innovative use of materials along with his unique and functional designs, it’s no wonder the collaboration between the two resulted in natural harmony of ethical AND cool.
