The Birth of Babystylista has only been a year and change, and we feel abundantly blessed with our support and readership. Any blog mama who loves fashion or all that is… kid, knows that the only way to survive in this overwhelming world of the web is to go beyond what is personal. We tend to focus on what’s-hot-and-what’s-not, what’s in it for our readers, what’s the latest news in pop culture, what is most important to the masses. And yes – those are all VERY important aspects of starting and maintaining a successful business. However – I am taking this time, as I look back at 2012, to rediscover why I started BABYSTYLISTA in the first place.
It’s because of this little monkey:
And her monkey of a father:
I love my family. I think I display this with every post I write, whether my undertone is that of exhaustion, frustration, or elation. But I do believe I say in so many words, links, pictures, and videos – just how much I love my family. They are everything to me, and that is why I am up posting at 4:30AM, multitasking between breakfast, diaper changes, and social media at 7AM (and every hour thereafter), and winding down with my evening thoughts at 3AM (wait – does that mean I only sleep for an hour and half? Oh well… I guess I do!). I do this for THEM. But I also do it because there is nothing more exhilarating than to share our fabulous finds with our fabulous readers, and posting crazy photos of those I love the most. Looking back at one of our most “adventurous” years to date (aka: Toddler year, a year of transition, a year of travel, tears and joy) – I hesitate to select only a handful of my most cherished photos that exemplify my most beloved posts of 2012, but here they are:
JANUARY – LD discovers her obsession with Yo Gabba Gabba and decides to join the band, so to speak:
FEBRUARY – LD features some “haute” winter looks:
MARCH – LD celebrates her 1st birthday, meanwhile realizing new her role as head of household:
APRIL – LD carves out quality time for Tea Time (Tea Collection) gearing up for a California Spring:
MAY – My original furry baby goes off to Doggy heaven, leaving us a legacy of hilarious memories and ridiculous doggy outfits:
JUNE – LD checks out the new trends for the coming Fall 2012 at the June CMC Fashion Market. The Mini Fashionista caused quite a stir with press in her gold Haute Stuff leggings and Fedora:
JULY – LD officially declares her shoe obsession – not limited to mommy-and-me:
AUGUST – D&G celebrates 3 years of marriage, reminiscent of the evolution of what is now a world filled with the joys of parenthood.
SEPTEMBER – LD illustrates her inner tomboy chic:
OCTOBER – LD continues her tour around NA with her her Bestie by her side:
NOVEMBER – The BABYSTYLISTA Crew go a little “Nutty” this Halloween, with a special reward at the end:
DECEMBER – In honor of one of our household fave Christmas Carols “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas” – LD takes the dream and makes it reality by wearing white frills and fur all in the name of love (mainly for her Grandmas who have been begging to see her in colors other than black and grey):
Looking back, I’d say we had quite the year. Now, 2013 is here for us to create new memories and experience new adventures. We have already lined up designers and collections that we are excited to highlight, and have met up with mini fashionista girls and boys around the globe who we are excited to feature right here on BABYSTYLISTA. We’re off to a good start, and we hope you and yours enjoy this incredible new year, filled with all that is stylin’, smart, and sassy!
Stylishly yours,
db
