Red has always been one of our fave bolds so when Jolly ol’ SC came by for a visit – we were beyond thrilled! LD made all attempts not to outshine the Big Man, so she settled with neutrals for this very special first meeting. 100% Cotton Tweed scrunchy pants from Milk and Honey Baby (a collection as sweet as it sounds),
your everyday Black Wu Tang Clan Onesie, by My Baby Rocks,
and a gorgeous Black Lily Shrug by none other than Luna Luna Copenhagen.
Topping it off with her too-cool-for-playskool Born to Love fedora
and a pair of Infant Black Retro Air Jordans, yet another TJ Maxx fab find (for only $25), say wha???
…she was ready to bust out a hip-hop rendition of Jingle Bells with her new BFF in red.
Once we got to the family festivities, however, the expectation of one of the newest babies in the fam to sport the Red Jolly suit was inevitable. So we joined in the merriment by wearing one of Grandma’s many gifts – a velour red Little Ms. Claus dress, by George. infantwear, accented with white fur trimming and layered with soft red tulle.
Of course, in keeping with LD‘s mantra of not falling into the trap of conformity – we decided to forego the whole Santa hat/reindeer antlers/elf cap look, and opted for her signature slouch, this time, a black and grey Star Beanie from My Funky Little Monkey.
Christmas Eve was just an appetizer, so we were prepared with outfit in hand for the big day – Christmas! In keeping with the holiday spirit, LD saved her most beloved Harajuku Mini for Target® Infant Girls’ Bubble Dress in Red and Silver for this festive occasion.
As per usual, we had to find an excuse to squeeze the turkey thigh into her most cherished Silver Foil leggings by Haute Stuff,
and indeed, mission accomplished
Yes – I know I know, Christmas is not all about what you wear (that’s right, I said it!), or receive, or eat and though we certainly had our share of all three – we absolutely experienced the true essence of Christmas. That being the celebration of life, family, joy, and well – in LD‘s case, a whole lotta Ho Ho Ho’s…
