5 Funky Ways to Wear Funky-legs, Day 5 – “KID 4 KID” – CREATIVITY FOR A CAUSE #5DaysofFunky #GIVEAWAY WW

Last September, we co-hosted a wonderful contest that encouraged our little readers to dig deep into their creative selves, for a cause! We were asked by Funky-Legs to choose a charity of our choice, and it was an easy choice for us –  CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, in dedication to our tiny little superhero and big-time neuroblastoma survivor, Darling Delilah who is now 5 years old. If one of our “artists” on babyStylista wins the best tights that they designed – they will have the two-fold grand prize of having their tights produced and sold worldwide, with ALL proceeds going to our chosen charity. Win-win for all!

Meet Julia.

She’s an 8 year old, “Mama’s girl” who loves a good joke, shoots hoops with her big bro Nate, and enjoys a good run of Pharell’s “Happy” on repeat. An avid reader of Geronimo Stilton books, a minion-obsessed Despicable Me fan, and despite her fave job of being mommy’s mini-me, she thrives on being very independent.

Julia loves to swim (and in fact, just the other day she took a dive and swam straight to the deepest part of the pool at 12 feet – UH. mazing!), spends hours on her scooter with her big bro, and is no stranger to the slopes.

… And at the end of the day, she still manages to keep up with her mama as the world’s cutest mini-yogi  (how cute are these two??). My kinda girl.

But it’s no surprise that this sweet, active, and bright little mama has another hidden talent…
Hand her a pencil, and she instantly transforms into a wee-sized fashion visionary.

When her mom asked her to participate in our contest, Julia, without hesitation, quickly put together a very unique design that held a very special meaning to her heart. Friendship.

All the fun acronyms that us big people take for granted, actually mean something to these kids. From LOL’s to BFFs to OMGs, Julia knows how to live a child’s life – through laughter, friendship, and love – alongside all the pretty colors surrounding us. What this talented 8 year old ended up coming up with was more than just a cool design… It’s a life changer.

For millions of lives…

Congratulations and a big thank you to Julia, who is doing her part to make this world a better, and healthier place.

All the way on the other side of the country, another mini fashionista patiently awaits to get her tiny little paws on a pair for herself.

And quite the pair it is.

Paired with her go-to Born to Love driving cap, Joe Fresh Blazer Button up, batwing stripey, Lucky brand Denim cutoffs, and perfectly accessorized Livie & Luca Marchita Boot – with faux coffee in hand, LD was ready to show off the very tights that did its part (thanks to Julia) to save the world, one LOL at a time.

What a perfect way to end our 5 Day Funky-Legs challenge!
