5 Funky Ways to Wear Funky-legs, Day 1 – TAKE A BOW, BIRTHDAY GIRL #5daysofFunky

Sigh.

My baby girl is four today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweet little mama, who, in her 4 years of life has managed to change 40 of mine.

What better way to celebrate her big 4.0 than to spend a nice day with mommy, window shopping,

…bringing her fancy purse doggies for a walk,

…scoring an awesome deal or two,

And being surrounded by all that is haute pink.

“You forgot the most important thing, mommy…”

But of course – what is a birthday for a 4 year old little mama without BOWS!!!

Bows, Bows! We love bows!

We decided that today was the day to give our  Funky-Legs Bow Tights a whirl. And what a perfect day it was! We challenged ourselves to a “5 days of funky” [looks] series with our fab Funky-Legs tights shipped all the way from Israel. Since our last few runs with the Star Tights in Ocean Green Tights and our “Draw Your Dream Tights Contest” where one of our lovely readers (talented, 8 year old, Julia) won the grand prize of having her design produced for the Fall/Winter 2015/16 collection (Stay tuned, we got our little paws on this exclusive design, coming up THIS WEEK!) – we’ve had nothing but great experiences with Funky-Legs. And today proved to be no exception.

It was a no-brainer to pair the Bow Tights in Grey with a variation of black and shiny pieces, as we knew this day would be otherwise filled with such color and wonder. The birthday girl decided to forego her love of all things bright and pink, and kept things neutral, with the one request: To wear her long sleeve bow shirt, which proved to be the most perfect match for her new Bow tights. With shiny shorts and a scarf, one would wonder what this child (or her crazy mother) was thinking, but it was the perfect day to represent both ends of the seasonal spectrum. With the lycra stretch, and the soft, cotton material, it was warm enough to throw on a pair of shorts that she can jump around and play in later at the beach park (one of her many birthday requests), rather than a skirt that she normally would have opted for on her special day. We added a touch of succ-essory fun with her infinity scarf and her go-to cloche to keep her top half nice and warm, while looking as cool as a glittery cucumber in black.

It has been a wonderful, significant, and emotional day for me. My little bubba is growing up. Donned in black and white with sprinkles of grey bows, she still adds a rainbow of color into my life. Our family has experienced [too much] loss these last two years, but when we’re blessed with such joy and love, packaged in a tiny 4 year old’s little body, I can’t help but recognize that – LIFE. IS. INDEED. GOOD.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my funny, lovely, quirky, sweet and sensitive little mama. You are my world. Now stop window shopping, and let’s  dig into some yummy cake!
